Present: Chris P., Doug, Brent, Jim, Scott, Cheri, Julie
Absent: Chris S., Roman
Issues:
1. NONE!
Methane cruise
1. Discussion of what to do if Flyer is out of service. Currently out for month of June to rebuild one engine. Also issue is what if ROV is not usable? We will continue moving forward, as though the deployment will take place, although contingencies will be developed should problems arise. Decision should be made as early as possible in order for people to plan their vacations.
2. Bag limit-switch will be set-up tomorrow. Chris P. starting core testing of Gordon tonight. the MFB run through the standards will take through this weekend. SPE column still needs changing, and Chris to do that Sunday. Will meet with Scholin tomorrow (Friday) to discuss various chemistry issues that Chris P. has been exploring. Chris P. will lean on Julie if/when she needs help.
3. Pressure testing of DWSM is going well. It has been tested to 1600psi and all connections look good.
4. Julie brought up issue that Luke mentioned that our bleach solution in DWSM may have been causing spurious ISUS readings. Discussion was directed at conversing with Luke about how the way we use bleach could not have given the readings ISUS gave.
5. Mass Spec has checked out visually. Wayne to fire it up early next week, and we will mount it in its pressure housing (which has arrived and resides in shipping), and perform dunk test late next week.
6. Modem deck box arrived and it turns on(!). Cables to connect modem are still being made. Discussion ensued over testing just that much of it to make sure it worked the burn wire/drop wt release mechanism, or wait until we got everything together to test. If we wait, and it needs to get sent back to Benthos, we may not have time. We will check this out next week to ascertain how much time/work it will take to do the complete test vs. a short test.
M0 Flip
1. The 'hot-swap' of can and batteries onto the existing surface mooring went very smoothly on Tuesday. MOE is in the high bay now running through it's post-deployment QC. Next flip is scheduled for June 15, and much discussion about moving the next flip date back a week to give Julie more prep time. We must remain cognizant of our power limitations (unlikely we will make it beyond 4 weeks, running PCR). Jim will talk to Grech next week and see what the likelihood of moving our dates will be.
2. Short discussion about keeping the high-bay clean. We all know that...
